Seong II Jeong, Esq.. Ph.D.

Dr. Jeong is a registered U.S. patent attorney with more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property practice and over 15 years of prior hands-on experience as a researcher and engineer. He represents clients in drafting, prosecuting, and managing patent portfolios across a broad range of technologies, including mechanical devices and systems, electromechanical systems, advanced manufacturing, alternative and renewable energy, consumer products, communications technologies, and business-method–related inventions. His combined engineering and legal background enables him to translate complex technical concepts into clear, enforceable patent protection.
Before entering patent practice, Dr. Jeong held a series of senior technical and research positions in both government and industry. His experience includes serving as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where he supported federally funded research programs, as well as senior research engineer at Samsung Aerospace Industries, Ltd. (now Hanwha TECHWIN Co., Ltd.), contributing to advanced aerospace and defense-related technologies. He also served as a senior research associate at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT); senior researcher and adjunct professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST); commissioned researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST); and graduate research and teaching assistant at Texas A&M University.
Dr. Jeong is the author or coauthor of multiple peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized scientific journals. He is a recipient of the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Electrostatic Processes Committee Innovation and Creativity Prize Paper Award (2004), recognizing the technical significance and originality of his research contributions.
